Food Street, Luoyang, China
Luoyang has a food festival every night beginning around 6:00 PM every night and this is where I have been eating most nights here. The locals tell me that what is served here is traditional Luoyang food stemming from ancient times. Fish, meat, tofu, seaweeds and other foods are put on skewers for patrons to choose to put in a broth in a bowl. Noodles are simmered for a few minutes and also green vegetables, some seasonings are put in and then it is served.
My readings on food in this area in ancient China tells me that the grain was millet, but now the fare is noodles.
The food is delicious and the air is happy and festive.
